Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson Reportedly Broke Up
It’s a sad day for love. According to The Sun, Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have split up after 18 months together. The relationship reportedly ended last month to the surprise of their friends.
“Chris and Dakota were very easygoing and always seemed really happy together,” a friend told the paper.
The split was even more shocking as the couple were rumored to be discussing the possibility of getting engaged.
“There was talk of engagement but now he says they have gone their separate ways, which has come as a real surprise to everyone,” the friend added.
While the couple were never officially engaged, they had no problem showing their commitment for each other. In September 2018, Johnson showed off a new tattoo, an infinity symbol, on the red carpet. The previous month, Martin was photographed with the same tattoo on his arm.
Johnson and Martin were last photographed together at dinner in November 2018, but Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, was recently singing the praises of his new girlfriend in an interview with the Sunday Times published earlier this month. Paltrow called Johnson “a fantastic woman,” adding, “I adore her.”
Though Paltrow has since remarried, she and her new husband, Brad Falchuk, have been known to hang out and vacation with Martin. Perhaps Paltrow can organize a couple’s vacation and get them to talk things out, or, at the very least, give them tips on how to consciously uncouple.
