OK, so we already know that ABC is eyeing six former contestants for the next Bachelor spot, but Chris Harrison’s latest hint will make longtime fans giddy with glee.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the host discussed his top pick for season 23 of The Bachelor and revealed that he’s “selfishly” rooting for a familiar face: Ben Higgins (aka the season 20 Bachelor).
“I would love for Ben to be the Bachelor,” Harrison said. “He is one of my very good friends. It makes it a little harder, because it’s a little easier when I don’t know them as well. I know that sounds weird but going through it with a very good friend is difficult because I have less of a poker face with my friends.”
We first met Higgins in 2015 when he appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette. He became the Bachelor the next year and proposed to Lauren Bushnell in the season 20 finale. The couple ended their engagement in May 2017, so we have no doubt Higgins is ready to return to the mansion.
“There’s an absolute, absolute opportunity for Ben to come back and be the Bachelor,” Harrison added.
Well, let’s get the show on the road, shall we?
