Chris Harrison Has Thoughts on Tyler, Hannah, Peter, and Kelley’s Quarantine Situations

If you feel like you need a flow chart to keep track of all the latest couplings/uncouplings/hangouts in Bachelor Nation during the coronavirus quarantine, you're definitely not alone. Even Bachelor host Chris Harrison—whose job it is to know everything—is having trouble keeping up.

"I think once we all come out of this quarantine, there's going to be a lot of catching up to do to figure out what's been going on," the host tells us from his home in Los Angeles.

First on the list: finding out the deal between former Bachelorette Hannah Brown and her runner-up, Tyler Cameron, who kept me—and plenty of others—sane and very happy when news broke that they were quarantining together at his house in Florida. (Okay, so there were others there with them. Minor detail.) But after about three weeks together—and plenty of are-they-or-aren't-they TikTok videos—Brown left the frat house for her family's place in Alabama. Since then, the only action we've gotten is Cameron admitting he and his friends miss Brown and shutting down a fan who said he wasn't good enough for her.

But if you talk to Harrison, he's not giving up hope—in part because it seems he has some insight into Brown's mind. "I wasn't surprised by Hannah and Tyler [quarantining together]," he tells Glamour. " I saw that coming. Hannah has been shipping that for quite some time, so I think that one I could possibly see happening. I'm glad it did. If it did."

He then corrects himself, well aware that Bachelor Nation will hang on to his every word: "I don't know what it is. They haven't defined it, so I'm definitely not going to define it. But I wish them well."

Meanwhile, Harrison admits he did not see the Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan situation happening. "That one caught me out of the blue," he says of the other couple currently commanding Bachelor Nation's attention.

Perhaps just as surprising is that Weber himself hasn't denied it. After pictures leaked of him carrying Flanagan over his shoulders on the Chicago riverfront (definitely not social-distancing), Weber—and then Weber and Flanagan—went on several podcasts to open up about their new life together, whatever it is.

"Are we dating? No. Do I love spending time with her? Absolutely,” he said on Nick Viall's podcast, The Viall Files. “We're not dating. Could I see that in the future? Yeah, of course. I'd be extremely lucky and very happy if that happened. I'm the last person that needs to rush into any kind of relationship. I just had an engagement that didn't work out. I just was trying to pursue things with another woman that didn't work out. That's why right now, I'm just taking it really, really slow."

Harrison thinks Weber's doing the right thing by "pumping the brakes and not defining" the relationship, but he also doesn't doubt there's a mutual attraction between the lawyer and the commercial airline pilot. "Clearly there is some sort of relationship going on. I love them both and wish them the best," he says, while acknowledging that The Bachelor wasn't the best environment for Flanagan. "I don't think it was a great fit for her. So maybe in the quarantine they can have that peace and come together."

Except Weber and Flanagan aren't the only two holing up in Chicago together; Dustin Kendrick, who appeared on Brown's season of The Bachelorette, is there with them. "Maybe Dustin was the safety third wheel," Harrison speculates. "You know when you go out and you're not really sure how something's going to work, so you invite a friend? Maybe he was the safety valve, but in the quarantine unfortunately you're stuck and now he might just be the awkward third wheel."

Whatever the case, Harrison is trying to keep his distance and not interfere too much. Plus, he's busy enough at home. "I have two teenage kids," he says of his son and daughter. "And one whose senior year of high school has been completely upended. So I've just been taking care of my family, [girlfriend and Entertainment Tonight anchor] Lauren [Zima], and vice versa."

Still, Harrison admits he's talked to Weber a couple of times "to check in on him and make sure he's okay," but reveals he has not reached out to Brown or Cameron. "I figure I'll let them define their own lives and figure out what they're doing," he says.

But when quarantine is over, all bets are off, Harrison says. "When we all come out of this, there's to be a lot of catching up to do to figure out what's been going on. We might have to have a quarantine tell-all."

Well, there you go: Quarantine is the new Stagecoach. And yes, we're going to need a show about this.
