Chris Harrison Claps Back at Peter Kraus’ Extreme ‘Bachelor’ Shade

From Cosmopolitan

Back in April (aka approximately 84 years ago), Peter Kraus showed up on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast and spilled insane amounts of tea about why he turned down The Bachelor. Reasons included (1) producers trying to get him to stop ~seeing someone~, (2) money, and (3) producers not agreeing to his counseling requests.

Peter said he requested “relationship counseling for myself and the top four or five girls during the process so we could work things out on a deep level” and said he wanted “continued support for myself and the person that I chose after the fact, because I saw the pressure that Bryan and Rachel were put under and I thought it was extremely unfair.”

The Bachelor’s host is now out here defending the show, telling Entertainment Tonight’s Lauren Zima that everyone has the opportunity to seek counseling. “Well, they do get that,” he said. “Everybody has access to that.”

Chris also implied Peter wasn’t far enough in Bachelor negotiations to be making any type of requests:

“It is normal for us to have multiple candidates coming in,” he said. “First of all, we have to find who is available and who is really sincere, and we bring them in for interviews. There is a vetting process that goes all the way up to the top of the network, so there is a lot that goes into it, instead of ‘Hey, Peter, you want to be the Bachelor? Great, come on!’ Not to put a big pin in this big balloon, but that would have been the start of where we would have gone. That would not have been the final step.”
