Chris Evans is slated to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in Amazon Studios' upcoming holiday action-adventure comedy Red One.

Jake Kasdan is directing and producing the film with his production company The Detective Agency, in partnership with Melvin Mar and co-producer Sky Salem Robinson. Kasdan previously worked alongside Johnson and Seven Bucks Productions on Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level.

Amazon Studios has not disclosed plot details for Red One, though it is known that the film's script will be written by Chris Morgan based on an original story by Seven Bucks president Hiram Garcia. Production is expected to begin later this year.

Evans is most well known for his role as Steve Rogers in the Marvel films Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.

Additionally, the actor is slated to star in Netflix's upcoming film The Gray Man, directed by the Russo brothers, and as Buzz Lightyear in Pixar's origin story movie Lightyear.
