Chris Evans Says He Has 'Embarrassing' Footage of His MCU Co-Stars

From Men's Health

Chris Evans just revealed that he is sitting on some "incredible" footage of his fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe cast-mates... but he has far too much honor to ever share it.

In a recent conversation with Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd as part of Variety's Actors on Actors series, Evans recalled the first time they ever met. It was on the set of Captain America: Civil War, Evans' fifth movie playing Cap. Rudd had just made his debut as Scott Lang in his own standalone movie, and Civil War was his first time in the greater ensemble cast of Avengers.

"On that day, it was literally the day I met you, [Anthony] Mackie and I and Scarlett [Johansson] got in our head that we were going to shoot — this is so hilarious — a little video just for the Marvel gang, like a little culmination, like a yearbook video, set to that song from Grease," Evans said. "'We go together, like rama lama,' whatever that song is."

"We were just going to go around, take little clips of videos of people dancing and cut it all together. The first day I was like, 'All right, I'll start collecting some of this footage.' I have the footage. I was like, 'Hi, nice to meet you. You don't know me, but can I get this?' It was you, Mackie, I think [Jeremy] Renner, Sebastian, and I just said, 'Look, everyone, just dance for 30 seconds,' and you did it. You were a great sport. You willingly danced with little explanation from me, and then I never completed the video. I just abandoned it. But I got that footage of our first day of meeting of you dancing."

Rudd, for his part, has no memory of the video ever being made. "I must've blocked it out," he said. "I don’t remember it at all."

Before their interview could progress, though, Evans had to dig out the footage — and immediately deemed it too cringeworthy to ever put online for the fans to see. "I'm sorry, I found it," he said. "It's unbelievable. I can't show it — it’s way too embarrassing."

Forget DC and that #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign. We need Chris Evans to #ReleaseTheGreaseMusicVideo.

Of course, the Avengers did eventually assemble for a yearbook music video of sorts in 2019: the cast recapped the events of the Infinity Saga prior to the release of Avengers: Endgame while singing along to the tune of 'We Didn't Start the Fire' with Jimmy Fallon.
