Chris Evans' Mom Had the Best Reaction to His 'Sexiest Man Alive' Title
The actor said his mom is 'proud of everything' he does.
Chris Evans, who is known as "Captain America," can add another title to his resume— "sexiest man alive."
The actor was given the coveted title by PEOPLE, and while fans couldn't agree more, his mother was also quite delighted by the news.
While speaking with the outlet for the cover story, Evans noted that one of the first things that went through his mind is that his mom would be "so happy" to hear the news, noting, "She's proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about."
And he wasn't wrong! The Avengers star's hometown news station 7NEWS in Boston, MA got ahold of Mrs. Evans to find out what she really thinks about her sons new title!
“My reaction was, ‘yeah, of course, it’s about time!’" she exclaimed.
“I was bragging when he was potty trained, I was bragging when he was walking, but this is something that everyone will know about. I’m pretty happy about it," she continued.
Before jumping into PEOPLE's cover story, the actor mentioned it was an interesting thing to be interviewed for. "This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about," he said. "It feels like a weird form of humble bragging."
His mom also told NEWS7 that Evans is always beside himself when it comes to his career, noting, “He’s always amazed at his own success, he’s amazed at what people think of him."
As for his friends, Evans noted that the title is an open invitation for his buddies to bully him. “It will just sort of be a point of bullying to my friends,” Evans told PEOPLE, adding, “I mean this is, you know, ripe for harassment.”
