Chris Evans may only be 10 days into his marriage with actress Alba Baptista, whom we quietly wed in Boston on Sept. 9, but he’s already giving the world a small glimpse into their life together. In a new interview with GQ published Tuesday, the actor opened up about how his relationship with Baptista has changed how he approaches career opportunities and how he now aims to work less.

“I haven’t worked all year and I don’t plan to, which has been lovely,” he shared during the interview, which took place ahead of the wedding. The actor then explained that while he originally told Baptista that he planned to only do “one movie a year” in 2022, he ended up doing three — a decision he very much regretted.

“My girlfriend that I’ve had for a while, when we began dating ... I was like: ‘Yeah, I do one movie a year. I try to never work now.’ And then, after like a few months of dating, boom, guess what? We’re living in Atlanta for a year. Get ready," he said.

He added, “And even when that year was happening, I was like, man, never again.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Evans brought up his now-wife again when talking about how he and Baptista differ in opinion on first impressions.

“My girlfriend’s really big into people’s energies and first impressions. I’m not so much, because I feel that I don’t always give off the same thing out of the gate," he explained. "So, I try to really reserve judgment.”

While the actor’s interview took place months ahead of his wedding to Alba, its release comes just over a week after People confirmed the pair had tied the knot during a "ceremony at a private estate in Cape Cod, Mass."

According to the outlet, many of Evans’s famous friends, including Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey; Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky; Jeremy Renner; and John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, were in attendance for the private celebration.
