Chris Brown to Star in Women's Basketball Movie
It's almost Christmas, and someone seems to have asked for She Ball, a movie about women's basketball written, directed, and produced by Nick Cannon, who will star in it with Chris Brown. Thanks a lot, Santa.
It's an unexpected move, given that when we think of women and Chris Brown, who assaulted Rihanna in 2009, we tend to just want to keep them as far apart as possible.
But! Variety reports that She Ball is in production, so here we are. The movie will follow "the love of the game through the struggles of Avery Watts, played by Cannon, who enlists the baddest women’s streetball league in the city to help him save the embattled Inglewood Community Center, which he manages, all while trying to raise his seven-year-old daughter," according to Variety.
Cannon is "very excited" for She Ball, which will feature real athletes from the WNBA and the Basketball Beauties League. Above all, he continues, the movie's "main objective is to empower women!"
