Chris Brown Arrested on Felony Battery Charge

The singer was arrested in Florida on Thursday night. Find out more here.

Controversial singer Chris Brown, 29, was arrested on Thursday night in West Palm Beach, Florida outside Coral Sky Amphitheatre, where he was performing as part of his national Heartbreak on a Full Moon Tour.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Brown was arrested on an out-of-county warrant from last year, which WPTV confirmed was a felony battery warrant from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the date of which coincides with an incident that occurred last April when Brown reportedly punched a photographer during a paid appearance at a Tampa club.

Brown was booked at 11 p.m. and released 52 minutes later after posting a $2,000 bail.

Of course, this isn’t Brown’s first brush with the law, nor is it the first report of physical abuse to sully his name.

The singer was charged with felony assault and sentenced to five years probation and community service following a 2009 incident with then-girlfriend Rihanna.

In 2013, both Brown and his bodyguard were charged with felony assault after an “altercation” outside a hotel in Washington, D.C.

Later that same year Brown entered rehab, only to get kicked out after smashing his mother’s car window during a family session. After violating the next rehab facility’s rules as well, Brown was sentenced to 131 days in jail for breaking his probation.

In 2016, Brown was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after former beauty queen Baylee Curran reported that the singer had threatened her with a gun at his home.

In 2017, actress Karrueche Tran was granted a restraining order against Brown after alleging he’d assaulted her and threatened her via text.

So, is this the time we finally cancel Chris Brown?
