Design duo Chip and Joanna Gaines are taking on their biggest fixer yet: an over 100-year-old historic castle in Waco, Texas. Coming on Friday, October 14 to the Magnolia Network, Fixer Upper: Welcome Home - The Castle will feature six half-hour long episodes documenting the couple's total overhaul of a once-abandoned Central Texas estate.

Known to Waco locals as Cottonland Castle, the stone structure dates back to 1913. "Chip and I have a long history of taking on unusual projects," Joanna writes in The Magnolia Journal, reminiscing on the first time her and her husband drove by the dilapidated structure in their hometown."Yet, despite their various states of disrepair, to us these places tend to radiate a certain unexpected charm."

"The plan is to bring this beautiful property back to its original state," says Chip, who admits he'd been eying the purchase for two decades. But from efforts to preserve original elements like plaster and stonework to unexpected water leaks, the castle's overhaul turned out to be a much larger project than the couple anticipated. "Getting the same exact stone from 100 years ago has been a challenge," says Jo.
