Chip & Joanna Gaines Just Finished Their Most Meaningful Home Renovation Project Yet

Chip and Joanna Gaines may be hanging up their Fixer Upper hard hats, but they have one last meaningful renovation project to complete first.

The HGTV stars surprised the children and families of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital today by redecorating the dining room at the Target House in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Gaines couple warmed up the dining area with wares from their Target line, Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, in order to make it a more welcoming environment for the families who stay there while their children undergo treatment for cancer.

Like true home-renovating masters, Chip and Joanna drew inspiration for their touching project from their own children—Drake (12), Ella (11), Duke (9) and Emmie Kay (7). Joanna told People, “Anytime I’m designing a space for children, I always think of my own children for inspiration...When I was creating this space for St. Jude, I was thinking of the children there and I was also thinking about their families, who have basically been uprooted for the treatment their children are receiving.”

Way to hammer out a beautiful new home for the children of St. Jude, Chip and Joanna!
