Chip and Joanna Gaines Are Already Casting Their Fixer Upper Reboot

Is your house in need of a “demo day?” Well, you’re in luck! Chip and Joanna Gaines’ HGTV hit Fixer Upper is getting a reboot on their forthcoming television network, and the Waco wunderkinds are officially casting for Season 6.

The Fixer Upper reboot will be coming to the couple's new Magnolia Network in 2021. In the meantime, Chip and Jo have put out a casting call for current homeowners in and around Waco, Texas, who are looking for a one-of-a-kind home renovation.

To be eligible, homeowners have to live within 30 miles of Waco. And, unlike Season 5 participants who needed a $30,000 renovation budget, Season 6 applicants are required to have a remodel budget of at least $50,000.

Applicants must also be 21 years of age or older, willing to hand over all design and renovation decisions to Chip and Joanna (that one’s easy!) and be able to vacate the property during the duration of the renovation, which can last anywhere from 30-35 weeks.

Fixer Upper, which originally aired on HGTV, ended after five record-breaking seasons in April 2018. The show’s reboot came as a surprise to everyone—even Chip and Jo.

“The day we wrapped our final episode of ​Fixer Upper,​ we really believed it was a chapter closed,” the couple told People. “We knew we needed a break and a moment to catch our breath. But we also knew we weren’t done dreaming about ways to make old things new again.”

“These past few years, we’ve continued tackling renovations and projects, doing the work we’re passionate about, but​ I don't think either of us anticipated how the show would become such a permanent fixture in our hearts,” they continued. “We’ve missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes with you, and we’re excited to do that again very soon!”

All of them have been on the market for going on a year or more.

Production on Season 6 of Fixer Upper is set to start later this fall, and all homeowners are expected to be picked by September 2020.
