Children's Mouthwash Pulled From Stores Like Whole Foods For Poisoning Risk–Parents, Take Note

Heritage Store Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash has been pulled from shelves due to a risk of poisoning children. The affected products were sold across multiple stores, including Whole Foods, Mom’s Organic Market, Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market, Amazon, and others.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on in February, saying that the hydrogen peroxide mouthwash bottles contains enough of the ingredients that require childsafe packaging, but the affected products were not child-resistant, a violation of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Heritage Store Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash Recall

More than 100,000 bottles of this mouthwash, manufactured by Nutraceutical Corporation, are included in this recall. The flavors Wintermint and Eucalyptus Mint are the specific units that do not feature childsafe packaging. The bottles are a dark brown color with a white cap and have the Heritage Store logo, product name, and flavor on a pink label.

Products sold between October 2010 and December 2023 were affected. If you have a bottle of this type of mouthwash in your home, it is imperative that you keep it out of reach of children at a minimum, or dispose of it completely to be safe.
