Pamela Blair, known for her roles in All My Children, as well as starring in the original Broadway production of A Chorus Line, died on July 23. She was 73 years old.

The star passed away at her home in Phoenix, Arizona, following a lengthy illness, according to Deadline.

Baayork Lee, who originated the role of Connie in A Chorus Line, confirmed the news in a statement.

"The original cast is devastated at another loss of our original cast member Pam Blair," Lee shared with Fox News. "She had been ill for a while and always kept her spirits up, and most of all her wicked sense of humor that she displayed in her monologue as Val in the show," she said, referencing her role in the Broadway hit.

Lee added: "May she rest in peace and dance among the stars with all of her ACL colleagues that have left us."

Blair's agent during her career, Dani Green, also told the outlet that the star unfortunately "had a long battle with a disease that they never really were able to identify. She has had endless tests and doctors, and they never really knew what it was."

Additionally, a tribute to the late actress was shared on Twitter, by the verified account of the late Marvin Hamlisch, the original composer of A Chorus Line.

"We are saddened to hear that Pamela Blair, the original ‘Val’ in A Chorus Line, has passed away," the social media note shared. "The character was loosely based on her own life, and she was a part of the musical from the very first workshop. Our thoughts are with her loved ones and fans."

Blair's career began on Broadway, and she starred in productions such as Neil Simon's Promises, Promises, in addition to breaking barriers in Of Mice and Men as Curly's wife—the show's only female role—in 1974. Other productions she appeared in include The Nerd, A Few Good Men and King of Hearts.

She later transitioned into television and film, nabbing roles on soap opera All My Children, as well as making appearances on Ryan's Hope, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Cosby Show and 21 Grams.

Throughout her career, the actress was nominated for a Drama Desk Award and a Daytime Emmy.
