The Kansas City Chiefs are about to play in their fourth Super Bowl in five years, but this time the team has entered a whole other stratosphere of notoriety thanks to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The budding relationship has been scrutinized to no end, from Swifties tuning into games hoping to catch a glimpse of the pop star to football fans grumbling that her presence is a distraction.

But if Swift has been a distraction, apparently she's distracted the team right into the biggest game of the year. And in an appearance on the latest episode of the Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gary podcast, coach Andy Reid likewise shut down cynics while discussing his own history with the "Shake it Off" singer.

"Yeah, listen, she’s been great. I knew her before, from Philadelphia," explained Reid, who served as head coach of the Eagles until 2012. "Her dad [Scott Swift] played at Delaware and was a big football fan and good guy. So I had met him there and her."

"And that was the last thing Trav wanted to hear, that I knew her before him. She told him, ‘I know your coach,'" he recalled, laughing. "And he went, 'Oh, God, come on!'"

"But no, listen, she's a good girl and I'm happy for Trav, and there has been no distraction that way at all, and Trav’s handled it right, she’s handled it right, and we just move forward," he added. "So it hasn’t been a problem at all."

Swift is expected to attend the Super Bowl on Feb. 11 to support Kelce, despite a planned performance in Tokyo on Feb. 10. Though timing will be tight, the 17 hour time difference should give the 34-year-old plenty of time to make it to Las Vegas to support her boyfriend.
