How Chick-fil-A's Sauce Shortage Could Affect Your Order

Anyone who loves Chick-fil-A has a specific sauce they order every time they pull into the drive-thru. For me, that's Chick-fil-A sauce (or Polynesian if I want to mix it up), but maybe you're more of a Garden Herb Ranch or Zesty Buffalo person yourself. Whatever your ride-or-die sauce is, you should know that Chick-fil-A is facing some supply chain issues and is currently limiting sauce purchases per customer.

On the Chick-fil-A website, there's a short pop-up that reads "Industrywide Supply Chain Shortages" and goes on to say that "due to industrywide supply chain shortages, some items, like sauces, may be unavailable. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience." This news comes nearly a month after a ketchup packet shortage was announced that's affecting restaurants nationwide.

As the pandemic persists, individuals continue to turn to takeout and drive-thru dining, which means meals are often packed with sauce packets to go. Even in areas where dine-in seating is possible, high-touch items like ketchup bottles on each table are being replaced with sauce packets.

In an attempt to offset the issue, Chick-fil-A is currently implementing a cap on how many sauces customers can get with their orders. At the moment the limit is now one sauce per entree, two sauces per meal, and three sauces per 30-count nuggets.

If you're one of those people that always saves your leftover takeout sauces, now is your time to shine and if not, here's hoping things get sorted out soon so you can get back to lathering your waffle fries in Chick-fil-A sauce. You should also know that Chick-fil-A does sell some of their famous sauces in bottles at the grocery store now, so that's an option too. Always be prepared!
