Hours after the premiere of her final season with Chicago PD, Tracy Spiridakos shared a selfie on social media showing how she spent the start of her day enjoying the “early morning light.”

The flawless selfie shows Spiridakos, 35, in front of what she identifies as “one of our beautiful locations” from the first episode of Season 11, which aired Wednesday night on NBC. Spiridakos appears to be dressed for the chilly Chicago weather as she stands wearing a gray jacket and beanie, her blonde hair falling down around her shoulders.

In her caption for the post, Spiridakos points to the sun beaming through the clouds in the photos, adding a smiling face with heart-eyes emoji to show her appreciation for the beauty of the scene.

Chicago PD’s 11th season marks the police procedural’s first since the show was delayed amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year. Showrunner Gwen Sigan told Parade that the gap in time contributed to her decision to write a six-month time jump between the end of Season 10 and the beginning of Season 11.

Another new aspect of the show this season is that it’ll be Spiridakos’ last portraying Detective Hailey Upton. Variety broke the news about Spiridakos’ planned departure from the show last fall. Spiridakos first joined Chicago PD as a recurring character in Season 4 before joining the regular cast in Season 5.

Sigan said late last year that she had plans for Spiridakos’ character to undergo “growth and change” on Season 11 before the show says goodbye to one of its main characters. But Spiridakos will be staying with the show for the duration of the season, according to Sigan.

“We get to live with her all season long,” she told Parade. “This is definitely the start of a great arc for her.”

There has also been speculation that Spiridakos’ husband on the show, played by Jesse Lee Soffer, may come back for a cameo after leaving last season. “Never say never," Soffer has said previously when asked about a possible return.
