‘Chicago PD’s Tracy Spiridakos Shares Sweet Hug With Co-Star as Her Final Episode Nears

Chicago P.D. actress Tracy Spiridakos’ co-stars are sharing as many sweet moments with the actress as possible ahead of her impending departure from the show.

Spiridakos, 36, who plays Detective Hailey Upton, was photographed giving her co-star LaRoyce Hawkins a big hug in a new image that Marina Squerciati shared on social media. Squerciati, 39, who plays Officer Kim Burgess on the NBC police procedural, captioned her snap on Instagram by writing, “Squeezing in all the Tracy hugs we can get.”

Spiridakos and Hawkins, 35, were both captured in the photo wearing the police uniforms they use on set. Spiridakos had a huge smile on her face as Hawkins leaned into the hug, wrapping one arm around her back as she squeezed him around the middle.

Hawkins, who plays Officer Kevin Atwater, left a comment on Squerciati’s post that featured the hashtag #StayUpton. Both he and Spiridakos also reposted the photo on their Instagram Stories.

Spiridakos announced last fall that Season 11 would be her last with Chicago P.D. Spiridakos first appeared on the show as a recurring character during its fourth season before joining the main cast in Season 5.

In an interview with TVLine late last year, showrunner Gwen Sigan said Chicago P.D.’s 11th season would be marked by “growth and change” for Spiridakos’ character. Six of Season 11’s episodes have aired since the show returned in mid-January, with the seventh episode scheduled to air on March 20. The exact point at which Spiridakos’ character will leave the show is currently unclear.

In the meantime, Spiridakos has continued posting images from the set on social media as she and her co-stars worked on filming Season 11. She shared her most recent photos, which were taken during a night shoot, on Instagram a couple of hours before Squerciati posted the Spiridakos-Hawkins hug.
