Calling all Chi-hards!

We have big news about a familiar face from your favorite franchise. Former Chicago P.D. star Jon Seda—better known as Antonio Dawson—just landed the lead role in an upcoming television series.

Variety reports that the actor will return to NBC in La Brea, a drama pilot headed by writer and executive producer David Appelbaum.

The intense storyline follows the struggles of a family torn in half by a mysterious sinkhole that suddenly appears in Los Angeles. Actress Natalie Zea will star opposite Jon as a desperate mother who, along with her son, gets separated from her husband (Michael Raymond-James) and their daughter (Zyra Gorecki).

Half of the family inexplicably finds themselves living in a prehistoric world with a group of strangers, where they must fight to survive and try to find a way back home.

Jon will play the part of Dr. Benjamin Glass, a former Navy Seal "who knows how to take charge." This is his first major TV role since leaving the Chicago franchise in 2019, where he spent seven years as a series regular on Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Justice. While the actor has not yet issued a statement about the new show, he seemingly confirmed the news by sharing an article about it on Twitter.

Los Angeles is going to be a lot different than Chicago (especially in a primeval world)—but we know that Dawson can handle anything!
