How wonderful it is to meet again with talented friends we have known since their beginnings in the world of beauty, and in this particular case in the world of makeup. Cassandra García is a stellar makeup artist and currently the Director of Global Education for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Her career began alongside the legendary Bobbi Brown, creator of the brand that bears her name and has revolutionized the world of beauty with her techniques and products.

We had the opportunity to talk with Cassandra during our unforgettable visit to Estée Lauder Companies where we were inspired by the stories and experiences of some successful executives in the beauty industry that fill us with Hispanic pride.

In the video above you will enjoy our lively conversation and below you will discover her best recommendations.

Tell us about yourself and your life story

I am from San Diego in California and my family is originally from Mexicali. Beauty has always been present in my family and I always remember that my nana never left home without her lipstick and that she also sold them door to door.

I was happy to receive the used lipsticks that she gave me and I remember the shape that her lips marked on the stick. Do you know that we all have a particular way of shaping a lipstick? I love that!

We do take advantage of lipstick without a doubt. And from your passion for beauty, how do you connect with a brand like Bobbi Brown?

It was Bobbi Brown herself who inspired me to move to New York. Her message that every woman simply dreams of being herself touched my heart and inspired me. It made sense with my psychology studies because I truly understood that makeup is not simply a number of products but a tool to feel better and become your best version. With a lipstick, the ideal eyebrow and a little concealer we all have greater confidence.

What do you bring from your culture into your work every day as a celebrity makeup artist?

It's all about empowerment and feeling better. You know that in our culture a little lipstick goes a long way as part of our look and feeling good about ourselves. Your clothes are special, but a lipstick is something even more personal and special. Each one of us have an ideal shade and a way of feeling when we use it that is instantly empowering.

Give us your three or four infallible products that change your face and help to increase your self-esteem

Let's start with a good moisturizer and this one here, Vitamin Enriched Face Base by Bobbi Brown has an amazing formula with vitamin E. It has been one of my favorites even before I started working with the brand. It has grapefruit extract, hyaluronic acid and essential oils. Don't forget you have to start and end each day with a good moisturizer.

The second would be a corrector for dark circles that really helps brighten and neutralize. A corrector can be your secret weapon and it is different from a concealer. They compliment each other. The corrector is applied first to neutralize and then comes the concealer to even out your skin tone. Corrector is seriously your secret weapon, and you should look for one that matches your skin tone.

The third product of course is a lipstick, either a red that will be perfect for glamorous occasions to a neutral and natural tone that simply enhances the lips.

What should you consider in a lipstick to find the ideal shade?

It all starts by knowing exactly what your natural lip color is without any makeup, since the ideal nude lipstick should simply enhance it and not overload it.

For red tones look for undertones with orange or blue depending on your darker or lighter skin tone. Try several shades that brighten your face and smile. It's all about having fun and playing with many options, because if one doesn't work you can always try another until you find the one that you like.

What would be another key product?

A mascara to give you the final touch and if you can also define and shape the eyebrows with a special pencil even better!

What would you say to all those who dream of succeeding in the world of makeup?

Just do it. I started practicing with my friends and my family. Already in sixth grade I started using eyeshadows because I loved applying them and seeing the results on my friends and myself. Take the risk and do it. And remember that practice makes perfect!.

Thank you dear Cassandra for your priceless advice. We love your expression that sums it all up: "A little lipstick goes a long way."
