Ski season is well underway in Aspen, Colorado — which was this year named one of the best places to go in 2024 by Travel + Leisure editors. And while the town has no shortage of luxury resorts to visit, if you're looking for a more intimate experience, consider the newest boutique stay, Mollie Aspen, which opens today.

The modern 68-key hotel occupies prime real estate in downtown Aspen and features multiple bars and restaurants, a stunning shopping boutique, a rooftop spa pool (which will open in the spring), and sleek design blending Scandinavian and Japanese influences. Another standout element is the hotel's art program, comprising textiles, sculptures, and paintings by contemporary artists like Landon Metz, Ethan Cook, and Rachel Snack.

The property was named after Mollie Gibson, a prominent local from the 19th century who contributed to the town's cultural and economic development.

"Mollie is a place for guests and locals to feel comfortable eating, drinking, and sleeping. Its residential comfort and warm, laid-back atmosphere encourages people to hang out just like they would at a good friend's home," Aaron Brown, co-founder of HayMax, the property's owner, told Travel + Leisure.

Mollie's guest rooms and suites range from 183 square feet to 692 square feet and offer high-end amenities like Parachute sheets, Coyuchi robes, Sightglass coffee, rainfall showers, and bath toiletries from Swedish brand L:A Bruket. Natural wood accents, hand-dyed textiles in earth tones, and ceramics add coziness to the spaces, while oversized windows allow guests to enjoy the hotel's beautiful surroundings.

The property's food and beverage program is led by Gin & Luck, the company behind the iconic Death & Co. bar in New York, L.A., and Denver. The hotel has morning brews and breakfast at the all-day café and après-ski bites, dinner, and craft cocktails at the full-service restaurant and bar, which spills outside (don't worry, there's heated seating).

Next spring, the hotel will also open its rooftop for guests to take a dip in its heated spa pool or hang out with a drink and enjoy the mountain views.

"Mollie stands out as one of Aspen's few independent boutique upscale hotels," Michael Brown, HayMax's other co-founder, said. "This independence has empowered us to unleash our creativity, infusing the property with a design and philosophy deeply intertwined with the charm, spirit, and culture of Aspen and its surroundings."

The hotel has also partnered with multiple brands on a series of exclusive products available for purchase at the hotel's boutique. Highlights include cashmere blankets by Hangai Mountain Textiles, hand-made ceramics from Austin, Texas-based ERA, and made-in-NYC cashmere beanies by 8.6.4.

You can now book your stay at Mollie, where nightly rates start from $500.
