Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo Share 'Vacation' Reunion Selfie

The stars of the well-known comedy franchise united once again.

Few comedy film franchises are as lasting or well-known as the Vacation franchise, which began in 1983 with National Lampoon's Vacation.

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, who play Clark and Ellen Griswold, star in almost every entry in the series. 

The film series is a cult classic and remains a favorite for many, which is why D'Angelo's new Instagram photo is so exciting.

The actress posted a selfie of herself and Chase, 79, smiling wide for the camera at Steel City Comic Con in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

"Together again… @steelcitycomiccon with @chevychase!" D'Angelo, 71, wrote in the caption.

Many fans were excited to see the two stars reunited, with one writing, "Well this made my Christmas season, thank you! ❤️💚❤️."

"Everyone’s favorite movie parents! 😍😍," another commented.

After the first film in 1983, the two reprised their roles as the Griswolds in four more movies: National Lampoon's European Vacation, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Vegas Vacation, and Vacation.

While the first two sequels came not long after, there was a break of eight years between 1989's beloved Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation, which came out in 1997, while Vacation was released in 2015. 

There was also the spin-off movie, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2, which starred Randy Quaid and Miriam Flynn, but Chase and D'Angelo didn't return for this made-for-TV movie.

Most recently, there were reports of a spinoff series called The Griswolds in development at HBO, with franchise star Johnny Galecki executive producing.

The Hollywood Reporter shared the first news of the series in 2019, but since then, there have been no significant updates. It's unclear if HBO is still working on the series or if the project has been scrapped.

Either way, the Vacation comedy films are well-loved, especially National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, which many families are sure to watch again this holiday season.
