The Hallmark Channel may be known for its legion of Christmas movies, but true fans know it also has some great television shows. When Calls the Heart continuously draws in viewers, but there was another drama that had people tuning in for new episodes week after week: Chesapeake Shores.

The show's premise followed a divorced woman named Abbey O'Brien (Meghan Ory) as she comes back to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores, Maryland for personal reasons she didn't expect. Her sister Jess' (Laci J Mailey) inn is about to be foreclosed on, and she unexpectedly runs into her first love Trace Riley (Jesse Metcalfe), whom she left abruptly 16 years ago. As Abbey works to reconcile with her estranged family, her loved ones also learn about themselves along the way. The show quickly pulled on viewers' heartstrings, because it eventually went on to air six seasons through October 2022.

Given the show's success, longtime fans may be wondering if there's a chance for Chesapeake Shored to get renewed for season 7 in 2023. Well, we were wondering that too, and the answer we found will sure be sad for the legion of viewers watching week after week.

Is Chesapeake Shores renewed for 2023?

We hate to break the hearts of longtime fans, but Chesapeake Shores won't be airing new episodes. Back in March 2022, Hallmark Channel announced that the show would end after six seasons, with the show's final 10 episodes airing in August of that year.

"With a top-notch ensemble cast and creative team, ‘Chesapeake Shores’ has shared stories that are relatable, poignant and unforgettable," Laurie Ferneau, SVP of programming, told Variety at the time. "We look forward to honoring the journey viewers have been on with the O’Briens with one final, special season."

When the Chesapeake Shores series finale aired in October 2022, many of the cast and crew said their goodbyes on social media. One such person was Robert Buckley, who portrayed Evan Kincaid, who posted a tribute on Instagram with behind-the-scenes photos.

"As the O’Brien’s story comes to a close tonight, I wanted to express my gratitude for getting to be a part of it," he captioned the post. "Thank you to the entire Chesapeake Shores cast and crew for being a wonderful group of folks I had the pleasure of spending two years with. You all rock... And last but not least, I want to say a big thank you to all of the fans for joining us on this journey. I hope you enjoy watching the finale as much as we enjoyed making it."

Robert wasn't the only one reminiscing about his time on the show. The late Treat Williams, who played Mick O'Brien since the beginning of the series, went on Instagram to share his thoughts on Chesapeake Shores ending.

"Thank you @hallmarkchannel and @dpaulsonprods for six great years playing Mick O'Brien," he wrote at the time. "I will miss this cast 🙏."

While Chesapeake Shoes is no more, it doesn't mean folks can't rewatch the show from the beginning. The drama is currently streaming on Peacock, which you can subscribe to starting at $5.99 per month. Once you have an account all set, go to the show's title page on the Peacock website or the Peacock app and enjoy the lives of the O'Briens all over again.
