Cheryl Burke Reveals One of Her Biggest Wedding Planning Pet Peeves

Cheryl Burke needs you to RSVP. The Dancing With the Stars pro took to Instagram this week to touch on one of her favorite topics of the moment—her wedding to Matthew Lawrence—and to reveal one of the pain points in the overall planning process.

The actress uploaded a video discussing the seating chart and guest list count. “I think we should scroll down this list and see who hasn’t RSVP’d yet,” she commented as she rattled off their names (concealing the identities of the culprits with strategic bleeping).

She added how texting an RSVP does not substitute for a formal “yes” or “no.” Burke also noted that if she attended somebody else’s wedding, they should also accept her invitation. “You better be coming,” she warned.

Oftentimes, creating the seating chart is viewed as one of the more difficult components of the wedding planning process. We recommend couples send save-the-date cards well in advance, with RSVP deadlines for invitations set at least a month before the wedding date. This gives ample time to the catering services to prep, and it provides you with a buffer period to strategically sit and deliberate over the finalized seating chart.

On the guest front, we recommend following all deadlines and adhering to any requests included on the invitation. These options may include the following: adhere to the dress code, book your hotel rooms in advance, show up to the ceremony before its start time, and RSVP on time.

Burke and Lawrence ultimately got through it all. The pair married in a San Diego wedding on May 23.
