Cherokee Chapter of Trout Unlimited will host ‘Kids Fishing Day’ on Saturday

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Saturday, anglers aged 12 and under will meet in the Unaka Ranger District for Kids Fishing Day.

Catchable-size trout will be stocked prior to fishing. All anglers must be accompanied by a non-fishing adult. No license or permit is necessary to participate in this event, and all anglers must bring their own gear. Kid’s Fishing Day will happen rain or shine.

The event will be held in the Unaka Ranger District. Participants will meet at The Dillard Place at Upper Paint Creek at 9 a.m.

UT Extension building outdoor classroom for 4-H youth development students

The Dillard Place at Upper Paint Creek is on Viking Mountain Road in Greeneville. From Highway 70 (Asheville Highway) near the North Carolina state line, turn onto Viking Mountain Road and look for the sign on the right.

Top Dog hotdog stand will provide food to registered participants.

The Cherokee National Forest, the Cherokee Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency organized and will host Kids Fishing Day.
