This lucky cast and crew just received a highly coveted honor.

Tonight, television’s biggest stars gathered virtually for the 78th annual Golden Globes. During the ceremony, The Queen’s Gambit went home with the award for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

The series was up against some pretty steep competition, including Normal People (Hulu/BBC Three), Small Axe (Amazon Studios/BBC), The Undoing (HBO) and Unorthodox (Netflix).

In 2020, it was Chernobyl that landed the award. The series was up against Catch-22, Fosse/Verdon, The Loudest Voice and Unbelievable. Other previous winners include The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Big Little Lies, The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Wolf Hall, Fargo, Behind the Candelabra, Game Change, Downton Abbey, Carlos, Grey Gardens, John Adams, Longford, Elizabeth I, Empire Falls, The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, Angels in America, The Gathering Storm, Band of Brothers, Dirty Pictures, RKO 281, From the Earth to the Moon, George Wallace, Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny, Indictment: The McMartin Trial, The Burning Season, Barbarians at the Gate, Sinatra, One Against the Wind and Decoration Day.

The 78th annual Golden Globes were hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. This isn’t their first rodeo, since they previously served as hosts in 2013, 2014 and 2015. However, they’ve never done it from opposite sides of the country…until now.

Now, can someone give this cast a standing ovation?
