Here's one reason to believe that 2018 may be less of a dumpster fire than 2017: A Cher musical is officially coming to Broadway.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, The Cher Show will have its pre-Broadway premiere in Chicago next summer, before opening at Manhattan's Neil Simon Theatre in fall. Chronicling Cher's life and six-decade career as an actress and singer, the show will run at Chicago's Oriental Theatre from June 12 through July 15.

Though casting is yet to be announced, the show has a whole boatload of behind-the-scenes musical talent attached: it comes from Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and his producing partner Flody Suarez, with a book by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), direction by Jason Moore (Avenue Q), choreography by Christopher Gattelli (Newsies), and orchestrations, arrangements and musical supervision by Daryl Waters (Memphis).

"My life as a musical on Broadway," Cher said in a statement. "It seems crazy, exciting and bizarre - but that's probably how my life seems to most people." Word.
