While we all know Cher Horowitz from "Clueless" for her lovable wit and charm at Beverly Hills High School, the iconic character is also remembered for her iconic, luscious locks. According to stylists, her big bouncy blowout is trending again, and it's no surprise why—the head-turning 'do is perfectly versatile for any event, from casual to glam.

In essence, the bigger the hair, the better. “She has a classic blowout [that's] all about volume. Everything in the 90’s was about volume,” explains celebrity hairstylist Kiyah Wright. She recommends asking your hairstylist for a long layered fringe cut to recreate Cher’s blow out hairstyle. Once you achieve the foundation, keep reading for the step-by-step tutorial to achieve this voluminous look.

How to Style Cher Hair

Step 1: Prep

Good styling prep begins in the shower with a volume system. “I would start with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner then I would move into a good leave-in conditioner. One of my favorites is the UNITE Hair 7SECONDS Detangler ($38, UNITEHair.com),” explains Wright. Spray your leave-in conditioner six inches away from the hair to condition and prep the hair for heat styling.

Step 2: Blowout

Next, Wright follows up with the Fekkai Root Lift Volume Spray ($28, Fekkai.com) for voluminous hair. “It kind of plumps the hair and gives it a lot of volume, but it's also weightless,” says Wright. “[Apply your] root volumizer by sectioning each part and spraying it full blast to the roots, [but] don't saturate too much in one area.” Make sure to apply the root volumizer directly on the hair for automatic volume.

After some added volume, Wright reaches for the Fekkai Smoothing Cream ($28, Fekkai.com) to smooth the cuticles of the hair for a sleek look. Wright uses a bristle smoothing brush while blow drying the hair for a frizz free style. “The larger round bristle brush [is] the trick to get those cuticles to be super smooth,” explains Wright.

Step 3: The Finishings

A big bouncy blowout is not complete without some extra curl and added volume. “You can set it with large barrel curls with the hair pins. So after each one you can set it [with] six large barrels just to keep the body and volume,” says Wright.

To keep hair in place, Wright reaches for the Muze Hair Last Look Hairspray ($14.99, MuzeHair.com) for her clients, especially when working with textured hair. “I like the hair to feel movable and light, but also set, so it sets the hair. This is kind of movable and you can curl over the next day,” explains Wright.
