Acclaimed chef José Andrés will return to his roots for a new docuseries set in Spain. The Discovery+ series, titled José Andrés and Family in Spain, will see Andrés exploring his country of birth alongside his three daughters, and cooking many of the regional dishes that shaped his evolution as a chef.

"Spain is the land where I was born, and where my passion for cooking began," Andrés says in the first trailer for the series, which will launch just in time for a post-Christmas binge on December 27th. "Spain lives deep in my soul, and its food has made me who I am, a chef who loves to feed the world."

The trailer shows Andrés alongside his three daughters, Carlota, 23, Inés, 21, and Lucia, 18, eating their way across Spain and taking in local sights and experiences along the way. Their destinations will include major cities like Barcelona and Madrid, as well as the town of Roses, Catalonia, where Andrés began his career at the legendary (and now closed) restaurant El Bulli.

As he discusses in the footage, Andrés moved to the US in his twenties, and subsequently raised his family in Maryland. Now, he wants to introduce them to his roots and the dishes that inspired him as a young man. "I want them to see it all, learn it all and taste it all," he says of his daughters. "From the most simple, iconic foods – tapas, gazpacho, paella – to the more sophisticated and unique foods of my homeland."

Andrés has made headlines of late for his humanitarian work. More than a decade ago, in response to the devastating 2010 earthquake in Hatiti, he launched World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit that provides meals to individuals and communities affected by disasters. The nonprofit has since delivered millions of meals to people in need across the world. Back in February after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Andrés announced that World Central Kitchen was on the ground at the Ukraine-Poland border, delivering meals to refugees.
