You know, Cheetos is one of Slimer's favorite snacks.

Fans of snack foods and the Ghostbusters franchise seemed to notice a couple of things when the trailer for the upcoming “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” film was released. When Slimer, that green gelatinous icon, appeared at the end of the trailer, his oversized mouth seemed to be ringed in Cheeto dust. And in a promo photo for the film, a trail of Cheetos had been carefully laid on the floor, in an attempt to lure Slimer into a ghost trap.

According to the Ghostbusters News website, the connection between Cheetos and Ghostbusters got even stronger when the crunchy snack’s Instagram page was “frozen” — the profile photo for @Cheetos temporarily used a filter showing the film’s “Death Chill” — earlier this year. On Monday, Cheetos officially revealed its Ghostbusters-inspired offering: It’s bringing back Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Smoky Ghost Pepper Puffs, but this time the bag looks like it’s been lightly slimed. (And Chester Cheetah is kitted out in his own Ghostbusters uniform, complete with a proton pack.)

Each bag of Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Smoky Ghost Pepper Puffs has a QR code that can be scanned to enter a Sony Pictures-sponsored contest. The grand prize is a three-day, two-night trip for the lucky winner (plus one guest) to attend a Sony Pictures movie premiere in the future.

If the combination of a flight, hotel stay, and night at the movies isn’t your thing, then the winner can also skip the trip and take a check for $5,000 instead. (If you’ve not picked up a bag of Ghost Pepper Puffs, you can still enter the contest by completing a form on CheetosGhostbusters.com.) All grand prize entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Sunday, March 17.

Unsurprisingly, the newest Ghostbusters film is expected to have a number of product tie-ins. ICEE has released four new flavors inspired by the film, including Boo Raspberry, Red-1/Cherry-1, Slimer’s Back, and the carbonated Mischievous Mini-Puft.

"We are excited to bring the fun of Ghostbusters to life," Kimmra Hingher, vice president of marketing for The ICEE Company, said in a statement. "While most of the flavors are a fun new take on some of our most beloved ICEE classics, Mischievous Mini-Puft is a completely new flavor profile for us, so fans of all ages can let the kid out with this playful addition."

Several cinema chains also have new Ghostbusters-themed popcorn containers, including Cinemark’s Ecto-1 shaped version, AMC’s ghost trap variety, and Regal’s slightly different ghost trap. Regal will also offer green caramel-coated popcorn, which looks a bit like Slimer got loose behind the concession stand.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire hits theaters nationwide on Friday, March 22. That means there’s still two weeks for someone to announce that Ecto Coolers are coming back too.
