The final weeks of summer vacation are coming to a close and before the kids head back to school you may be looking to fill your weekend calendar with fun activities.

Check out what to do around Shreveport this weekend from Glo Fests at the Riverview Park to a family-friendly music festival at the Louisiana State Fair Grounds, here's what's happening this weekend.

Friday, August 4

  • Glo Fest at Riverview Park - The Shreveport Regional Arts Council's monthly Glo Fests invite the community to immerse themselves in the magic of summer. Experience light, art, music and culinary delights along the Red River from 7 - 10 p.m. There are local artists to shop from, local food vendors to enjoy, activities for kids, live music and a light show on the Bakowski Bridge of Lights.

  • Summer Food Truck Nights at Eleven Events - Celebrate the end of summer with bounce houses, music, games and local food trucks. This is a Bring Your Own Beverage event and doors open at 5:30 p.m. at 1529 Texas Ave. in Shreveport.

Saturday, August 5

  • Bridal Market & Sample Sale at the Louisiana Boardwalk - From 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. brides-to-be and wedding enthusiasts can shop exclusive deals, designer discounts and more. Top bridal boutiques will be showcasing their latest collections that you can try on and get expert advice from some of the best in the bridal business.

  • 6th Annual Ratchet City Music Fest at the State Fair of Louisiana Fair Grounds - Come out at 4 p.m. to party Shreveport style with local DJs and artists. There will be a kid zone with games, bounce houses, a petting zoo and pony rides along with adult activities like a mechanical bull, games, selfie spots and more. Tickets start at $20 each and can be purchased at the Eventbrite page.

  • Green Jelly Three Little Pigs 30th Anniversary Tour at The Remington Garage - Come witness the legendary band Green Jelly as they bring their punk rock puppet show to 211 Market St. in downtown Shreveport as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of their biggest selling song "Three Little Pigs." Shreveport's own BloodDrunk and Monroe's The Mitch Laing Band will be kicking off the night. Tickets are $20 at the door; this is an age 18 and older show. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8 p.m.

  • Streetcar Station One Year Anniversary Celebration - Celebrate a year of business with Streetcar Station from 2 - 5 p.m. with a balloon animal artist, magic shows and of course New Orleans Snoballs, ice cream and Roman candy. Sample snoball flavors, enter to win a free snoball and prizes including a free nerf party at the new Swamp at Streetcar Station.
