She also sent a note to 'young activists' and 'incredible female leaders.'

Charlize Theron is showing appreciation for "incredible female leaders" and celebrating her own daughters while doing it.

On Thursday, the South African-American actress posted an Instagram photo showing a glimpse of her children, Jackson, 10, and August, 7. The upload was in honor of International Women's Day, which is celebrated globally on March 8.

In the capture, taken from behind, the two girls can be seen looking out over the horizon at the sunset while standing on a rock from atop a high hill.

With the social media upload, Theron sent a shoutout to the "young activists we work with in Southern Africa" in the caption by acknowledging, "you all blow me away with your passion and commitment to making communities safer, especially for young women."

The Hancock actress continued, further explaining some of the philanthropic work she does with a few select organizations.

"Back in 2020, @CTAOP and I – alongside @CAREORG and @EIFOUNDATION– gathered a group of stellar women together in a rallying cry against the global epidemic of gender-based violence - as old as humankind, getting worse in the age of COVID, and always, always, always intolerable. We raised our voices and awareness and supported some incredible community-based organizations around the world," she wrote.

Wrapping up the note, she sent a message to her followers, encouraging, "Let’s continue to use the power of our voices. Let’s support female leaders. Let’s say enough is enough. P.S. Take some time today to celebrate the women in your life. I know I am. Cause we all f’n deserve it."

The actress is known for her work with the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which she founded in 2007, to "advance and invest in the health, education, and safety of young people living in Southern Africa to create a more equitable future for all."

The 47-year-old star's motherhood journey began in 2012 when she adopted Jackson, and three years later, the Mad Max: Fury Road actress expanded her family again, adopting August in 2015.

Theron has previously opened up about her decision to adopt, telling People in 2018 that it was a "top priority" for her, due to exposure to orphanages and children in need in her community throughout her upbringing.

"Even when I was in relationships, I was always honest with my partners, that adoption was how my family would look one day," she said at the time. "This was definitely not a second option for me. It was always my first."

In an earlier interview with ELLE, she candidly spoke about raising Black daughters and wanting them to be proud of who they are. "Building confidence for them right now is an oath I made to myself when I brought them home. They need to know where they come from and be proud of that. But they're going to have to know that it's a different climate for them than it is for me, and how unfair that is. If I can do something about that, of course I'm going to," the actress told the outlet.

Theron's children are generally kept out of the spotlight completely, so although still discreet, the new photo was a treat for fans to see how much the young ladies have grown.
