Meghan Markle will be celebrating her first birthday as a royal this weekend-but she’ll be doing so at someone else’s wedding. People reports Meghan and Prince Harry will spend August 4 at the wedding of Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks. And they’ll reportedly be joined by Prince William and Kate Middleton, too.
Royal photographer Tim Rooke tweeted the news that Prince Harry will serve as best man for van Straubenzee, who is the Duke of Sussex's old childhood friend.
Unfortunately I will be missing the wedding of Charlie Van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks where Prince Harry will be best man on August 4th in Churt Surrey as I will be on the beach .Can't do everything!

He’s part of the “Glosse Posse.”
Sky News included van Straubenzee as part of Prince Harry’s “Glosse Posse,” a group of friends from Gloucestershire. They’re all old friends of William and Harry’s who got to know him at Prince Charles’ estate in Highgrove. They are often described in the media as polo-playing and aristocratic. People reports the two met at Ludgrove Prep School and have been friends ever since. These days, van Straubenzee’s title is Head of UK Financial Intermediaries for Brown Advisor, an investment management firm.
His older brother is also friends with William and Harry.
Thomas van Straubenzee, Charlie’s older brother who goes by the nickname Vans, is the godfather to Princess Charlotte. The two also had a younger brother, Henry, who died in a car accident when he was 18, Sky News reports. Both William and Harry were ushers at Thomas’s wedding to Lady Melissa Percy, though their marriage ended in divorce three years later, the Daily Mail notes.

Both van Straubenzee brothers were reportedly ushers in Harry and Meghan’s wedding. According to various reports, Charlie even gave a speech at Harry’s wedding, during the evening reception at Frogmore House. He reportedly made fun of Harry's role as dormitory monitor during their school days, even though he was the worst behaved kid of them all. “All I wanted was a cuddle from my mummy,” he said. “Instead, Harry nicked my teddy bear and chucked it out onto the roof.”
He was known as a “perpetual bachelor” for years.
Both Harry and van Straubenzee shared a reputation for being serially single before settling down. Tabloids reported van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks two were getting serious back in 2016. "Charlie was known as a perpetual bachelor, so this means Harry really does have to find a girlfriend," a mutual friend told the Daily Mail then.
Jenks runs a video company called Jenks & Co alongside her sister, Kitty. She started making music videos when she was in school, and then was hired to film her first wedding video in 2010. She has been a full-time videographer ever since. The two announced their engagement in 2017.
