Ryan Reynolds recently got fans excited for the third Deadpool movie—which marks the merc with a mouth's first official adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe—by announcing that it will also feature Hugh Jackman's tenth performance as Wolverine. And now there's a rumor circulating that Matt Murdock, aka the Man Without Fear, aka Daredevil, could also show up, either in Deadpool 3 or at some future point in the Deadpool franchise.

During a recent appearance at Comic-Con in Dortmund, Germany, while speaking about the new Disney+ project Daredevil: Born Again in which he will reprise the role, actor Charlie Cox speculated that Daredevil and Deadpool would complement each other.

"Because of the tone of our show, I think there’s a place for Daredevil to show up in Deadpool," he said. "Would be really cool... Great, now that’s a news story!"

Cox played Matt Murdock for three seasons in Netflix's Daredevil, as well as the team-up show The Defenders. That performance was a largely serious one, and much of Cox's screentime saw him reckoning with the character's trademark Catholic guilt (when he wasn't trading blows with Kingpin). It was announced this year that Cox will be returning in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, and we got our first look at a lighter, funnier side of the character in his recent guest spot in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, in which he came to the aid of Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters... and ended up doing the walk of shame in one of that series' best sight gags.

It was presumably this tone that Cox was referring to in his interview, suggesting that Born Again will be less all-woe-all-the-time and more in keeping with the MCU's quippy style. If that is the case, then this new version of Daredevil would definitely get along better with the constantly wise-cracking, fourth wall-breaking Deadpool.
