Charles Melton's Photo of His Grandfather Has “Riverdale” Fans Seeing Double

“Wait seriously?!? This isn’t you??”

Riverdale fans are doing a serious double take after Charles Melton posted a photo of his grandpa circa 1943. Or, wait, is that just a black-and-white photo of Charles run through a grainy antique VSCO preset? I, for one, cannot trust my eyes and I'm definitely not alone.

On Friday, January 31, Charles shared a photo of his “Papa Yu.” The picture shows a young man in profile, looking pensively away from the camera. His dark hair is slicked to the side with a hard part — a slightly different look than we’ve seen from the Riverdale star who usually wears his dark curls in tousled waves, but we could easily picture Charles rocking this style as well.

“A photo of my grandpa from 1943,” Charles wrote in the caption, adding: “Love you Papa Yu.”

Even some of the biggest celebs are pretty much falling over themselves describing how much Charles and his grandpa look alike. “Wow, literally u,” Vanessa Hudgens commented, while Lauren Jauregui asked: “Wait seriously?!? This isn’t you??”

Fans were just as perplexed. “But like that looks exactly like you,” one Instagram user commented, with another writing: “Ahhhh no way! Stop playing with us that’s YOU!!” One fan even asked if the actor was just trolling them, and another joked: “Whoa!!!! You stole his WHOLE face!!!”

Of course, it’s not that weird for family members to resemble one another, and celebrity lookalikes have been having a ~moment~ for a while, but even we have to admit that this is seriously next-level. Here’s hoping Charles will share some more photos of his grandpa in the future — maybe some side-by-side pic-stitch action, just to really leave everyone absolutely as delightfully confused as possible.
