This Charity Just Broke the World Record for Most Bikes Donated
‘Tis the season to give back; for Free Bikes 4 Kidz and the Mall of America, it’s also the season to break records. The charity got its name in the Guinness World Records books on December 5 for donating the greatest number of bikes to charity within a 24 hour period. About 4,000 Free Bikes 4 Kidz volunteers worked on the 5,512 used children's bikes at a station in the Mall of America over the past two months to make them donatable that day.
Free Bikes 4 Kidz has provided over 20,000 bikes to kids in need since it began in 2008, with branches in Minneapolis/St. Paul and Salt Lake City.

The day after the Guinness Record-shattering bike donation was Bike Giveaway Day at the mall, prompting kids in need to come in and get new bikes. Now that is a happy holiday!
