Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz have been together since summer 2021, and as of October 2023, the pair are engaged!

It's a pleasant surprise, especially considering Tatum previously said he likely wouldn't ever hear wedding bells again.

“I don’t know if I’m ever going to get married again,” Tatum admitted to Vanity Fair in January 2023. “Relationships are hard for me. Even though I am a bit of a monogamist. In business, I have no real fear of anything being destroyed. But heart things, when it comes to people I love, I have a really hard time. I end up trying too hard, you know?”

He also admitted that he follows several Kravitz fan accounts on Instagram. “I have no chill. I was just seeing what she was up to! Also, I didn’t know anyone would know.”

Tatum and Kravitz met when she cast him in the woefully titled Pussy Island.

“Chan was my first choice, the one I thought of when I wrote this character,” Kravitz told Deadline in June 2021. “I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows, I got the sense he’s a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter.”

It seems Tatum “likes” her a lot too, as he reportedly followed multiple Kravitz fan accounts on Instagram after they were first photographed together in August. How long have Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum been dating? 

Paparazzi photos of Kravitz and Tatum first surfaced in August 2021, when the pair biked around New York City together. It was the first in a series of summer outings for the pair, who have also snapped grocery shopping together, strolling Central Park and going on a lunch date. Further fueling romance rumors, Tatum reportedly followed Zoë Kravitz fan accounts on Instagram the same month.

While they then walked the Met Gala red carpet separately in September 2021, the couple’s styling was still in sync; Tatum enlisted Kravitz’s longtime stylist, Andrew Mukamal, to dress him for the event.

It’s not the only way Kravitz has seemingly impacted his closet, as Tatum revealed in a recent V Man Magazine story that both she and pal Jonah Hill, who conducted the interview, have given him “some very specific style tips.” Although the couple has yet to step out in matching outfits, they did have a couples costume for Halloween 2021, when they dressed as characters from the 1976 film Taxi Driver, and on Halloween 2023, Kravitz dressed as Rosemary Woodhouse from Rosemary's Baby and Tatum was her demon spawn. Are Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum still together?

Heck yes! Kravitz alluded to their rumored romance in a March 2022 Elle cover story; when her smile in paparazzi photos with Tatum was brought up, she simply replied, “I’m happy.”  She also gushed about the Magic Mike star’s acting skills, saying, "Looking at his work and hearing him speak about Magic Mike and the live show, I'm like, 'I think he's a feminist.' You need to be so far from who this is, where it's not scary. And I don't think we've ever seen him play someone dark. I'm excited to see him do that."

The pair were spotted getting quite cozy in Italy in August 2022, and in the same month, she told The Wall Street Journal's WSJ Magazine of working on Pussy Island with her beau, "When you make things with people it's a very sacred space, and when you're compatible with somebody creatively it often opens up other channels, because you're kind of sharing all of yourself. ... I'm really grateful that this movie has brought him into my life that way."

She added that she wanted to cast him even before they met, explaining, "I felt, even from afar, before I knew him, that he was a feminist and that he wasn't afraid of exploring that darkness, because he knows he's not that. That's why I was drawn to him and wanted to meet with him. And I was right."

She was eager to see Tatum play against type: "[I wanted] someone who hadn't played a dark character before, because I think that's exciting to watch someone who's mostly played boy next door, good guy, love interest, all of that."

While both voiced characters in 2017's The Lego Batman Movie, the pair met for the first time when Kravitz tapped Tatum to star in her directorial debut, Pussy Island. “When Zoë called me about this, I was shocked,” Tatum told Deadline about getting cast in the thriller film. “I didn’t know her. I’d watched her in movies, knew she produced High Fidelity and had seen that, but I didn’t know she was creating on a level like this, where she wanted to direct. This came out of nowhere and the subject matter made me say, 'Wait, why are you thinking about me for this?' No one gives me a chance to play a role like this, everybody throws me down a different alley and expects me to do a certain thing.”

Perhaps the sign of true sole-mates, Kravitz has even influenced Tatum’s footwear choices since their first meeting, when she convinced him to ditch Crocs. “When someone can just come out and tell me I should not be wearing Crocs, and is so adamant about it, she completely convinced me and I never wear Crocs anymore,” he told the outlet.

Advice-giving is a two-way street for the couple, as Tatum recently revealed to Variety that he encouraged Kravitz to not act in Pussy Island on top of her directing duties. “I was like, ‘You’ll need double the days,’” he said. “She’s a perfectionist in the best possible way.”
