Here’s your excuse to plan a trip to the Hamptons this summer: Chanel has a new dreamy boutique that perfectly blends the coastal grandmother aesthetic and your wildest Parisian summer fantasy.
Open now through Labor Day at 26 Newton Lane in East Hampton, New York, the store spans two floors and about 2,368 square feet. The exterior features the traditional elements of many Hamptons homes: gray shingles, white windows, and lush landscaping. An archway, pair of white benches, decorative fencing, and lanterns add to its overall charm. The garden will be used for entertaining throughout the summer.
Inside, the light-filled space boasts an unsurprising color palette of black, white, and gold. The matte black flooring and white walls are warmed up by tweed rugs and simple seating. Graphic accent pieces throughout were inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s iconic salon in her Parisian apartment. Displays with a beadboard backdrop bring some of the casual coastal feel indoors.
On the first floor, shoppers will find handbags, small leather goods, accessories, and clothing. The second floor—which contains linen sofas and pillows covered in white and gold Chanel tweed—is reserved for private appointments.
The relaxed yet high-end atmosphere is surely worth a visit—whether you're in the area or want to make a whole trip of it. Just make sure to stop by the temporary boutique before summer's out!
