Chanel Opened a New Store in Aspen Just in Time for Winter

Just in time for winter Chanel brought a little taste of Parisian fashion to Aspen with the launch of its new boutique, right at the base of the "ski hamlet" Elk Mountains.

The new boutique unites the classic allure of Chanel with the ski-bunny, winter wonderland vibes of Aspen. It boasts Chanel RTW clothing, accessories, shoes, fine jewelry and watches, as well as fragrance and beauty — basically everything a fancy ski bunny would need on a trip down the slopes, including skis and cold-weather accessories like earmuffs and gloves. (Paging Kylie Jenner, who just showed off a ton of Chanel on her recent winter vacay).

According to a press release from the brand, the new Aspen space features mirrored columns that were "inspired by the famous mirrored staircase that connects the first-floor salon at 31 rue Cambon to Mademoiselle Chanel’s legendary apartment." The walls are covered in white wool to imitate the look of snow-covered mountains, and the furniture stays true to the house of Chanel's legacy in shades of cream, white, and black. Our favorite feature (besides the clothing, of course) is a gigantic carpet with the word "CHANEL" spelled out enormous letters that runs all the way across the boutique — talk about making a statement!

The boutique will feature select pieces from the house's F/W 2019/2020 collection, which was inspired by Alpine ski fashion, as well as a handful of pieces from the new Artistic Director Virginie Viard's first RTW collection for Cruise 2019/2020. Viard took the reins at the legendary fashion brand after the death of Karl Lagerfeld in early 2019.

But that's not all! Chanel's new store also features a brand new bag from the brand, dubbed "the 19." According to the brand, the bag "bears the essence of the House and its codes." It comes in black or white leather, or Chanel's classic quilted tweed, and features the iconic double C clasp interlaced with leather. Adding it to my holiday wishlist for sure!

However, this winter wonderland won't be here forever; the Aspen boutique isn't permanent. It closes on January 21, 2020, so if you've got a trip to Colorado on the books, you should definitely check out the gorgeous space before it, well, melts away.

But if Colorado is not on your winter check-list, don't fret! Check out some of the store's pics below.
