Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2024 haute couture show today centered not only on creative director Virginie Viard’s newest collection, but also on a single style detail in particular: the button. An oversize prototype of the fashion house’s interlocking C jacket button hung over the Paris runway like a crown jewel, in a nod to both grace and utilitarianism.

Models debuted fresh-faced, barely-there makeup looks to coordinate with the collection’s feminine balletcore details, including dance-inspired leotards and tights, as well as a predominance of tulle and lace. Actor and house ambassador Margaret Qualley—a former ballet dancer—set the beauty tone for the show with bold brows, flushed cheeks, and glowing skin that seemed equal parts effortless and meticulous. A similar look can be achieved using either a liquid or powder highlighter, like Chanel’s Les Beiges transparent Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid or its Healthy Glow transparent Powder.

Along with select other models’, Qualley’s half-up hairdo was accented with the season’s must-have accessory: a hair bow. The Chanel runway also showcased closely coiffed natural styles and center- and side-parted beachy waves that emphasized the movement of each look.
