Chance the Rapper Hypes Up Burberry, Before Riccardo Tisci’s Big Debut
Tomorrow in London, Riccardo Tisci will present his highly anticipated debut show for Burberry. Though largely kept under wraps, the designer has dropped a few hints of what to expect: he’s designed a custom tour look for Beyoncé, unveiled a graphic logo T-shirt, and announced that the brand will go fur-free. Leading up to Tisci’s big reveal, Chance the Rapper showed his support this week by putting his spin on the brand, as snapped by Kanye West on Instagram.
The rapper wore a Fall 2018 sweatshirt that is actually a reissued Champion style from 1991, fitted with an embroidered crest. (Bonus points for its fresh mint color and matching cap.) To push into the realm of streetwear, he styled it with two-toned black and red shorts and paired it with much-coveted Nike sneakers, designed in collaboration with Off-White’s Virgil Abloh. Clearly a fan of the label, Chance no doubt has many more Burberry looks to come, especially once Tisci’s creations hit stores.
