Kiernan Shipka Remembers Chance Perdomo as Gen V & After Movie Cast Share Tributes to Late Actor

British and American actor Chance Perdomo, known for his roles in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the After movies, and new show Gen V, has died at 27 years old following a motorcycle accident, Deadline reported on March 30.

Variety shared a statement from Perdomo's publicist confirming the news and noting that no one else was injured in the accident. “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident," the statement reads. "Authorities have advised that no other individuals were involved. His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”

Perdomo played Andre Anderson on Gen V, a spinoff of superhero show The Boys which aired its first season in the fall of 2023. The producers of Gen V also shared a statement with Deadline.

“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this," the producers's note reads. “For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”

The 27-year-old was born in Los Angeles but grew up largely in Southhampton, England. He got his start in theater, and his big break came in 2018 when he was cast as Ambrose Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix. The Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa show had two seasons on Netflix and brought him into wider acclaim.

Chance Perdomo then took over the role of Landon in the third After movie series installment After We Fell and became a fan favorite, acting in sequels After Ever Happy and After Everything. His most recent role was in Gen V, where he starred alongside fellow Sabrina alum Jaz Sinclair, Lizzie Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Asa Germann.

Kiernan Shipka, who starred alongside Perdomo in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, wrote a heartfelt tribute to Perdomo on Tuesday, April 2, calling him a “one of a kind soul.”

“Chancey Pants♥️♥️♥️ Oh man this hurts,” she wrote on Instagram. “He was a one of a kind soul. Just the most fiery, creative, loving, connected, and caring force you could possibly imagine… As playful as he was kind. As loving as he was hilarious. He never failed to make me laugh and he never failed to keep me on my toes (or off of them if he was giving me a piggyback ride to my trailer which he often did. Thanks Chance.) His humanity was a generous gift to me and to so many people. Really hard to picture this world without him in it. I loved him with my whole heart. I always will.”

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator and writer shared a series of photos of Perdomo, following the “shocking and devastating” news.

“Besides being one of the most talented young actors I’ve ever had the privilege to work with, @chance_perdomo was, truly, a light,” he wrote. “A generous, funny, open-hearted, wildly intelligent, and fiercely complex and soulful human being. The loss is heartbreaking and staggering. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Oh, how I wish Aunt Zelda’s words were true today (and perhaps they are): “There is no true death for witches, only transformation.” Rest in peace, Chance. We all loved you so, so much, cousin. P.S. This first photo is from Day One of shooting the “Sabrina” pilot (I believe). He’d either just played (or was about to play) a practical joke on Kiernan. It’s how I always picture Chance. 💔😢🐈‍⬛❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Kiana Madeira, After movies

“As I sit here and write this, I am still in shock at this news,” wrote Kiana Madeira, who acted in the After movies alongside Perdomo. "The sudden passing of Chance has hit me so hard, I can’t quite grasp the reality of it. It doesn’t make sense how a person with SO much life and joy and exuberance can be gone from this planet without a warning. But this is true to human life, and as I reflect on who Chance was and how he lived, I am inspired and in awe.

“I think I can speak for anyone who had the honour of meeting Chance. He truly lit up every single room he entered with his smile, his genuine and caring eyes, and his love for pranks and cracking jokes. From the moment I met him he made me feel safe, seen, and heard. His presence was warm and his love was abundant. As an artist, Chance was a firecracker. Improv King. A dream actor to work alongside. A wonderful friend, son, and brother.”

“This hurts. A lot,” wrote Gen V star Patrick Schwarzenegger. “What a young talented actor, and a great friend - gone way too soon. Was a pleasure to work with him in GenV. RIP Chance.” The Boys actors Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid and Karen Fukuhara shared Prime Video's statements on their socials as well, The Hollywood Reporter noted.

Skye Marshall, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

“Chance was my baby,” Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Skye Marshall wrote on Instagram. “A kind, precious man who’s extraordinarily gifted, very intelligent, loving hugger, energetic, radiant force of nature with a beautiful vibrant soul and a bright childlike smile, moving to the beat of his own drum. We’d both light up every single time we saw each other. The last communication we shared was last month, and my final words to him were, ‘I love you!!’ And he knew it. I’m in a state of shock and devastation, as so many are. I’m not ready to process this pain.”
