Chance Perdomo, ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Actor, Dead at 27

Chance Perdomo, the actor who starred in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Gen V, has died. He was 27.

The actor lost his life in a motorcycle accident, according to his publicist. No one else was involved in the accident, the publicist told Variety, citing local authorities.

“His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest,” the publicist said in a statement to Variety.

Perdomo was born in Los Angeles on October 19, 1996. He spent most of his childhood living with his mother in Southampton, England. Once he finished school, Perdomo considered a career in law before deciding to study acting instead. He moved to London to join the National Youth Theatre before his career took off.

Perdomo made his short film debut in 2016 and in the years that followed began appearing in British television shows. He acted in shows like Killed by My Debt and Midsomer Murders before landing the role of Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He was part of the main cast from the time the supernatural horror series launched in 2018 until it ended in 2020. Perdomo later joined the main cast of the Amazon Prime superhero show Gen V, in which he played Andre Anderson.

“The entire Gen V family is devastated by the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo,” Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television said in a joint statement released on Sat., March 30. The entertainment companies added that they wanted to “extend our heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance’s family and all who loved him at this difficult time.”

Gen V’s producers also released a statement on social media remembering the late actor.

“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this,” the statement began. “For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense.

“We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague,” the statement continued. “Hug your loved ones tonight.”
