This 'incredible' generator could save your life someday — and it's nearly $300 off

Let's face it; the planet's in an uproar. Seems like every time you turn around, some locality is contending with a flood, nor'easter, mudslide, hurricane, tornado, wildfire, earthquake, ice storm, blizzard, polar vortex, bomb cyclone or massive thunderstorm. Of course, you could resolve to never turn around, but, really, that's not much of a plan. Thing is, all of these catastrophes have one thing in common. They can wreak havoc with the power grid and leave you and yours without electricity...indefinitely. Want to exercise a little wise forethought and score a sweet deal at the same time? Get yourself Champion Power Equipment's 2,500-Watt Portable Inverter Generator. It'll keep you powered up, safe and may even save someone's life. Speaking of saving: It's a ridonculous $292 off at Amazon.

Don't let nature's fury or your power company's incompetence turn your life upside down. This brawny workhouse will have your back.

You might say, "Well, yeah, but it still costs $547." And we might say, "Stop your whining!" Then we'd add, "Listen, genius. First of all, this is an indispensable, onetime purchase that you'll have for decades. And even if you only need it on a few occasions, when you'll need it, you'll really need it, and the cost of the refrigerated food that you'll preserve during a blackout alone will likely have this paying for itself. Then there's the need to recharge your portable electronics, keep the lights on and, if you've got an electric stove, prepare food. What about ill, aged or indisposed family members who rely on electrically powered machines?" Need we say more?

Yes, we need to give you some basic details: The Champion Power Inverter Generator runs on gasoline or propane (not a common feature among portable generators) — 11.5 hours on the former fuel, 34 hours on the latter. It pumps out 2,500 starting watts of power and 1,850 running watts. It offers two 120-volt, 20-amp outlets and a 12-volt outlet especially for use with your car (as in restarting it!) and a dual-port USB adapter. And, not that noisiness will be a primary concern when the world around you is in chaos, but it emits just 53 decibels at a distance of 23 feet.

The reviews are in and, not surprisingly, they're stellar.

"Incredible," mused this ho-ho-happy shopper. "I bought this portable generator for a Christmas float we were building. It needed enough power for a fog machine, huge speaker and about 1,000 LED Christmas lights. It ran just fine and used hardly any gas at all. I love that it also has the ability to run off LP. It is very quiet and lightweight. Definitely a great buy."

"This inverter generator...far exceeded my expectations!" opined a pleasantly surprised purchaser. "In the past I have used comparable Honda generators, which are only able to use gasoline (no dual-fuel option there), and the noise level on this Champion is as quiet if not quieter than the expensive red generator. At roughly a quarter of the cost and the dual fuel option for the Champion, well, it’s a no-brainer! I have no doubts whatsoever that this inverter/generator will last me for years to come with proper care and maintenance and will power my needs at any particular time."

Aw, look, another Christmas story! "Sat in the garage for about eight months, then when we lost power on Christmas Eve it came to the rescue. Powered two fridges, freezer, hair dryer and other assorted items till power was restored. Works like a charm, quiet and dependable," said this gloating spouse. "My wife questioned the purchase but, man, did I get the last word; she is now a believer in being prepared!"

You can't put a price on your family's safety and security. Oh, wait — that's exactly what we're doing! It's $547, and it'll be the wisest purchase you ever make.
