Earlier this year Peter Sagan announced he would be hanging up the lycra in favor of some baggies to enjoy a relaxing, semi-retirement from road cycling. Although, his "semi-retirement" still involves racing at the highest level, just in a different discipline.

While Sagan isn't a huge name in the mountain biking world, he is well on his way to being one. His move is following suit of a number of other Tour road riders to at least dabble in World Cup XC in their free time.

Sagan's switch to dirt hasn't been without a few minor hiccups though. Take a look at one of them below.

Despite this little stuff and a trip out the front door, Sagan's riding companions say that he is getting faster and more precise by the day.

He better be getting sharp because Sagan is slated to compete in the Olympic XC in Paris in 2024. It isn't his first rodeo in mountain biking, but it would be good to see the Slovak icon do some damage in XC as well.
