Champaign-Urbana schools join in Bike & Roll to School Day

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Champaign and Urbana schools are participating in Bike & Roll to School Day on May 8 to encourage safe bicycling in the community.

The event is held by the Champaign-Urbana Safe Routes to School Project. It celebrates the health, safety, and environmental benefits of walking and cycling to school. Registered students will get a free bike light, reflector and safety information. Some schools across the twin cities will also have bike stations available with free supplies.
