Tortilla chips are good on their own, but they reach peak snack level when they're dipped. And while salsa is great and all, it's guacamole that deserves the most hype. In fact, guac is so good, it gets an entire day dedicated to it. Yup—September 16 is National Guacamole Day, so mark your calendars people!

Sure, making guacamole yourself is fun (we have over 25 guacamole recipes you can try) or perhaps you prefer to follow Chipotle's famous recipe, but free food just hits different, so here are all of the places offering free and cheap guac on National Guacamole Day. Guac on, my friend.

Del Taco

Guac lovers can redeem a free snack-size portion of Fresh Guacamole with any purchase at their local Del Guaco "guac-thru" in honor of National Guacamole Day. The free guac coupon is available in the Del Taco app from September 16 to September 19.

Chipotle

to celebrate National Guac Day on September 16th, Chipotle is officially launching its highly anticipated Chips and Guac slides on chipotlegoods.com. These comfy, super lightweight slides are available in two colors, Black Bean and Pepper, and made from molded rubber that conforms to your feet. All profits from the Chipotle Goods collection will go towards supporting organizations that are focused on making fashion or farming more sustainable.

Wholly Guacamole

Dallas locals can get their guac on for FREE… at a fun pop-up, guacamole drive-thru, The Pit Stop, courtesy of the Wholly Guacamole brand. Additionally, the makers of Wholly Guacamole are giving five lucky fans the chance to win free guacamole for a year by swapping out under or over-ripened avocados for delicious, ready to eat guacamole. Plus, if you are not in the Dallas area and are looking for a way to celebrate, head to @eatwholly on Twitter until 11:59 p.m. CT on Wednesday, September 16, to join in on the fun and enter for a chance to win free guacamole for a year.

Taco John's

Not quite guacamole, but just in time for the day, Taco John's now has a new Valuest Menu being tested at select locations. With items prices at $1, $2 and $3 these value menu items include premium ingredients like hand-cut sirloin steak, crispy bacon, guacamole, and all-white meat chicken. Some of the menu items include chicken quesadillas, chicken, bacon, guac street tacos, and a steak and potato griller.

Avocados From Mexico

Avocados From Mexico (AFM) is currently holding an online contest called "Choosing America’s Favorite Guac." Guac lovers nationwide are helping pick America's Favorite Guac recipe through a bracket-style online competition. Competing guacamole recipes will be shared in a bracket across social media where consumers will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorites until one is crowned America’s Favorite Guac. You can check out the current leaderboard here.

Camarena Tequila

Camarena wants you to pair guacamole with its tequila on National Guacamole Day, so they're reimbursing customers for their avocado and guac with a #GuacOnUs campaign. To enter on September 16, you must be following Camarena's Instagram account (@camarenatequila), post a picture to your Instagram story of your receipt showing the guac fee and the date, tag Camarena's Insta account and use the hashtag #GuacOnUs.
