Certain Colgate Toothpaste Products Recalled Voluntarily by Family Dollar
The store is recalling six products sold in several states.
Family Dollar is a great place to go if you want to save a bit of money, but like any other store, there are sometimes recalls.
In this case, the chain is voluntarily recalling six Colgate toothpaste products due to improper temperature storage.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration shared the recall on its website, which states that Family Dollar is recalling products "that were stored and shipped to a limited number of stores in AZ, CA, GA, ID, IN, MT, NM, NV, OR, TX, and UT on or around May 1, 2022 through June 21, 2022 due to product being stored outside of labeled temperature requirements."
This includes Colgate Optic White Stain Prevention Toothpaste 2.1 oz., Colgate Optic White Charcoal Toothpaste 4.2 oz., Colgate Optic White Mouthwash 16 fl. oz., Colgate Optic White High Impact Toothpaste 3 oz., Colgate Optic White Toothpaste Icy Fresh 3.2 oz., and Colgate Optic White Stain Fighter Toothpaste Clean Mint 4.2 oz.
While Family Dollar and the FDA urge customers to check their products at home, they also reached out to affected store locations and requested they pull any of these products from their shelves.
The recall on the FDA's site also notes that, "to date, Family Dollar is not aware of any consumer complaints or reports of illness related to this recall."
If you purchased any of the recalled Colgate products from one of these Family Dollar locations, you can receive a full refund without a receipt.
If you have opened and used the products and either experienced quality issues or an adverse reaction, then the FDA urges you report it to the MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program.
This can be done by filling out the online form, sending a physical copy to the address on the form, or by faxing a form to 1-800-FDA-0178.
As TODAY reported, Family Dollar previously recalled hundreds of various products in their stores across the country earlier this summer for the same reason, saying they were "stored outside of labeled temperature requirements."
