Celine Dion Honors Her Late Husband René Angélil With a Touching Instagram Post

Celine Dion took a few moments to reflect on the death of her husband, René Angélil, on the four-year anniversary of his death today. In a sweet Instagram post that featured Angélil and a puppy, she let her followers know that she thinks about her late husband, who she met when she was just 12 years old, every day. Specifically, she noted that she thinks about his smile and adds that she knows that he's watching over her and her family.

"There is not a day that goes by without me thinking about your beautiful smile," she wrote. "We miss you, thank you for watching over us my love. I love you. Céline xx…"

Angélil passed in 2016 after a battle with throat cancer. He and Dion were married for 21 years and shared three children together: 9-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson, and 18-year-old René-Charles.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Dion spoke about her husband a few months ago, as well. "Rene will always be with me, but I'm not in pain," she told CBS This Morning. "Let go of the pain. Say yes. Say yes for dance. Say yes for friendship. Say yes for love maybe one day. I don't know."

Dion insists that she has said yes to love, though it's not the kind of love that she sings about in her unforgettable ballads.

"I am in love, I am in love with my life, I am in love with my children, I’m in love with my work," she told ET. "I love what I do today even more than before. Am I going to have a partner in my life? We'll stay tuned and if I do, I will share it and it would be a pleasure to share it."
